TIGI Professional Curl Stick
Introducing the newest way to curl your hair, with a curling stick. While it may resemble the appearance of a curling iron, there is one fundamental difference: the curling stick does not have a handle to clamp hair around the barrel. A curling stick helps you achieve looser, more natural curls in just a few seconds. It may be a little difficult to master initially, but practicing the technique will help make perfect curls.
The key to handling a curl stick is your technique; we recommend holding the curling iron downward (as shown in the image above). Angling the stick this way pushes curls to the back of your head, instead of forward and upward.
The TIGI Professional Curl Stick has a ceramic-coated barrel as well as 25 adjustable heat settings that reach 383F. As you can see, the barrel decreases in size as you move away from the handle.
{the shorter curl was achieved with the smaller end of the barrel, whereas the longer curl was achieved with the larger end of the barrel}
If you’re looking for tighter curls, wrap your hair around the smaller end of the barrel. On the other hand, you can achieve looser curls by wrapping your hair around the larger end. The TIGI Curl Stick comes in two sizes, ¾” or 1” barrels, with the smaller working well with shorter hair and the fatter working best on longer hair (think beachy waves).
However, a trick to loosen curls is to run your brush or hand through them (as seen above).
As with any heat appliance, we recommend beginning with a thermal protecting spray such as AG Insulate. Finish the look, reduce frizz and add shine by spraying Sebastian Zero Gravity.
